Hudson Institute pinpointed connections of polisario front with terrorist groups
The American Hudson Institute published a study denouncing the polisario as a terrorist group having been involved in destabilizing acts in the North African region.
The study depicted the polisario group as “a primary source of regional instability” in cooperation with other armed groups, such as the Iran backed Hezbollah and the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK).
For its part, the Washington Post affirmed that hundreds of polisario military groups are currently detained by Syria’s new security forces who found them fighting with the defeated Bachar Al-Assad Army.
Such polisario soldiers had been recruited as foreign fighters to support the Bachar Al-Assad Army that made many Syrian people unlawfully perish leading to the tragic destruction of the Syrian infrastructure and cultural and social sites.
Polisario-linked militant networks fuel instability across North Africa and the Sahel undermining regional peace, security and stability.
Hudson Institute study concluded that the polisario should be reckoned as a Foreign Terrorist Organization FTO because of its linkages with Hezbollah and the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK).
Many lawmakers in different countries echoed the growing threat of this military group and called upon their countries to deem the polisario front a terrorist group.
